The new owners of this home loved everything about it except for the poorly laid-out primary bathroom and closets and the lack of covered outdoor space. Bathrooms and closets were gutted and reconfigured to provide a more open bathroom and combine two very small closets into one larger one. The existing open deck was screened on two sides. Since screens would be no match for the bamboo growth on the property line, the third side was built as a solid wall with operable windows to hold back the bamboo yet still allow airflow through the space with windows open. A metal roof covers the enclosure to provide the family with a year-round outdoor space to enjoy.
